This policy explains what personal data Country Dialing Codes processes, why, and the rights you have. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data we process
Contact form: the name, email address and message you send us, used only to answer your request. Comments: if you leave a comment, the name and email you provide, plus your comment. Audience measurement: anonymised usage statistics (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) collected to understand and improve the site.
Purposes and legal basis
We use this data to reply to your messages, to publish and moderate comments, and to measure audience. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving an editorial website, and your consent where required.
Audience measurement
We use Matomo, configured to minimise data collection (IP anonymisation, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiling). We do not sell your data and we do not run targeted advertising.
Retention
Contact messages are kept for up to 3 years after the last exchange. Audience-measurement data is kept for up to 13 months. Comments are kept as long as the article is published.
Subprocessors
Our hosting provider (Contabo GmbH, Germany) processes data on our behalf as part of hosting the website.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, and object to its processing, via our contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
